Located several blocks south of the main downtown street, this house converted over to a country-decor eatery is a popular breakfast spot for locals! It can be crowded on weekends. Breakfast is plentiful with home fries & fresh fruit - well cooked,not greasey! Delicious eggs benedict! It has great dinners here too, providing free live weekend entertainment later in the summer evenings. (Easy listening/Western/Rock& Roll two person bands seem the norm...well suited to the casual dining atmosphere in this licensed restaurant!) This is our favourite place to dine on our way to cottage country in the summer! It has a friendly efficient staff. The food is cooked by the owner - chef with several skilled helpers. Their pride in their culinary arts shows with healthy creatively cooked meals. Some of their dinners are so large that they offer 1/2 orders - this choice in their great Roast Beef & Yorkshire Pudding Dinner was plenty for me! With good seating for small or large groups, this is definately a family restaurant serving all age groups. They serve breakfast early and go to mid afternoon, then close for an hour or so then open for dinner. Limited free parking behind the house and on the local street. Theyre the most polite people and man do they make fantastic pizza, poutine and garlic bread. Id really love to give them a 5 star but my only complaint is the price and even though it might be steep you really do get what you pay for.Also recommend they go with loaf bread for the garlic bread the slices are great but I feel that the given 8 might be a tad slim and even if they have to up the price a tad for a loaf I guess thats fine as well. I had reservations about going to another Wimpy's, after having such a disastrous experience at the one in my town. The boyfriend however had eaten here many times, and told me that he'd really enjoyed it, and we needed a place we could take his year old son and all of us be comfortable. I was quite happy with my experience at this Wimpy's. The food was good, portions huge, service prompt (though she was carrying on a conversation with the family at the table beside us every time she came to our table). No complaints really. Read more
